La Vie au Grand Chalet - No 8. An Art Retreat with artist Heidi Laughton

I could not have been happier when photographer and artist Heidi Laughton asked me if I would be interested in hosting an art retreat. I have for a long time been an admirer and absolutely love her abstract paintings so I gave my answer immediately - a resounding YES!

The retreat is to be held from 15 to 21 September 2023 and will include art tuition, a visit to St Bertrand de Comminges and a drive into the mountains, full board and accommodation, and transport to and from Toulouse Blagnac Airport. There will also be time to stroll around the lively, pretty village of Aspet and its market and do a little obligatory people watching from a café terrace! The weather is generally balmy in September so do pack a swimsuit too!

The retreat has been designed for a small group so that participants can maximise their time with Heidi and really immerse themselves in making the most of the very beautiful mountain scenery. And whilst beginner and more experienced artists devote themselves to painting, I will be catering for most meals at Le Grand Chalet using, as always, local and seasonal produce.

If you have time at either end of your visit, I wholeheartedly recommend a day or two in Toulouse. It is a beautiful city whose architecture and history will fascinate you.

Heidi and I are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Le Grand Chalet to what we’re sure will be a friendly, relaxing and creatively-rewarding few days. For further details, please contact Heidi on www.heidilaughton.com/painting-pyrenees-23.
